Business Glossary Management

Is your technical information locked away in code? Is your functional information hidden away in someone’s head?

The Data Cookbook brings your metadata together in a central location for all, increasing the trust and transparency of your data. In many cases the definitions can be seen in reports. Users have a better understanding of their data when functional and technical data information can be viewed easily.

The business glossary in the Data Cookbook is a searchable repository for all your business definitions. All new or updated versions of definitions in this central business glossary are subject to data steward review and approval. The business glossary allows for you to document details for each glossary item. A technical definition is a narrative explanation of how to retrieve the information out of the data system. The narrative can include direct links to technical metadata from the data system data model.
